Earlier this month, Minister for the Environment, Steven Miles, joined the NRA at Westfield North Lakes to talk with retailers about the plastic bag ban.
Talking with the Minister, Daniel from The Fruit & Deli Co said that their store was making the transition to boxes and reusable cloth bags.
“There’s a little bit of apprehension initially but it doesn’t take long for people to pick up the box – it’s much easier.”
“The other thing is that it stops the bruising – plastic bags actually do cause a lot of bruising for produce, so we’re really happy if they go for a box or cloth bag.”
